Koralyn Karls

Student: Macey Pingel, senior

Nominating staff member: Mrs. Bonnie Mallmann, S.H.A.R.E. and F.A.C.E. teacher

Nomination statement: “Macey has been an amazing advocate for our students with cognitive disabilities. Not only was she a great S.H.A.R.E. partner, she is a great friend to all. Macey takes her love for others outside of school, too. She works for New Hope, and I have seen her many times on outings with our citizens with disabilities. Her passion and zest for life bring so much happiness to others.”

What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with, but you just don’t get the point of? “Peeps–worst Easter candy around.”

Who is your hero and why? “The clients at New Hope Center. They are some of the strongest and most compassionate human beings you will ever meet.”

Whom would you cast to play you in a movie about you? “Sarah Weber. She’s basically my long-lost twin, and we already look alike, so there’s no need for a costume.”

What is one place you would really like to visit and why? “Ireland, to experience their way of agriculture and eat fish and chips.”

What is your favorite article of clothing and why? “My hoodies. They are so comfy!”

What is your most prized possession and why? “My Nikon. I love capturing memories.”

*The student as well as the nominating staff member each receives a box of donuts.
