You Donut Want to Miss This!: Jennifer Yindra

Koralyn Karls

Student: Jennifer Yindra, sophomore

Nominating staff member: Ms. Tara Porter, English teacher

Nomination statement: “Jennifer has demonstrated great initiative and critical thinking skills in class this year. She is always the first one to jump in and help me and her classmates with technology. She takes the time to figure it out and then shows us all how it works. She has become my “go to” for making sure that all the assignments, submissions and virtual technology are working as they should, and she is always there to let me know when it isn’t.”

What was a dream career you had as a child? “I had always wanted to be a nurse anesthetist, but that changed about three years ago.”

What’s a “naughty” thing you did as a kid? “Every single Christmas, I would go unwrap all of my presents in the middle of the night and try to wrap them back up again. I did such a terrible job wrapping them back up and always got caught.”

Whom is your hero and why? “My hero is my mom because she is always taking care of me by giving me a place to stay and raising me to be proper, which I definitely think the world needs more of.”

Whom would you cast to play you in a movie about you? “Trust me when I say there is no actor who could play Jennifer Yindra.”

Where do you see yourself in five years? “In five years, I see myself attending Crown College in Minnesota, so I can go all over the world and help people.”

Whom is one person — alive or dead — you would like to share a meal with? “I would like to share a meal with George Washington because I would like to sit down and talk about what he thinks about our modern day society. I would also like to ask if he were me, what would he do to change the world.”
