Student Council Adapts Homecoming for Pandemic
October 28, 2020
In these confusing times, there are some things that can be cleared up about Homecoming, which will be held November 9-13. Homecoming was originally scheduled for the week of October 5.
CHS will have dress-up days like previous years. Seniors voted on ideas last week. The dress-up days will be: Monday — Pajama Day, Tuesday — Hillbilly Day, Wednesday — Support the Veterans Day, Thursday — Hawaiian/Beach Day with Toga Day for seniors only and Friday — Chilton Pride Day.
CHS will also have Homecoming Week games and class competitions. Ideas that have been brought up are Kahoot competitions, Jackbox games and assembly games that will be broadcast to homerooms. Some of these assembly games will be: co-ed volleyball, a rock-paper-scissors competition and a punt, pass and kick competition.
This year, there will not be a Homecoming dance, but there will be a court and a Homecoming king and queen.
There are no varsity athletic competitions scheduled during Homecoming Week because the football, volleyball, cross country and girls swimming seasons will be over, according to Mr. Corey Behnke, the district activities director and a physical education teacher.
