Nomination statement: “Jose is incredibly thoughtful and hard-working. He is always willing to help his peers, and he’s a fantastic role model to many other students within the school.”

Q&A:

What was a dream career you had as a child? “A dream career I had as a child was to be a farmer, especially working in the fields.”

Whom is your hero and why? “My heroes, I would have to say, are some of my closest friends because they’re the ones that help give me life lessons and look out for me.”

If you knew me, you would know that I . . . “really like cars and doing hands-on jobs like fixing up machines or helping others fix things.”

What is your secret talent? “My secret talent is probably being able to be almost the fastest kid people may know.”

What is one place you would really like to visit and why? “A place I would like to visit is Tokyo because it’s a beautiful place, they have a cool car culture and because I love Chinese noodles, too.”

What is your most prized possession and why? “My most prized possession is an academic achievement letter I earned from the school because it really shows how much work I put into school and passing my classes.”
