Mr. Corey Behnke

Senior Haley Byrge (second from right) — with her parents and sister, freshman Taylor Byrge — signs a letter of intent to join the shooting sports team at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. Haley Byrge is believed to be the first CHS student to receive a shooting sports scholarship. Last school year, Byrge was the Wisconsin state champion in trap. “I connected with Indian Hills through a PullUSA Magazine, which is a trap shooting magazine I get for being signed up to the USA Clay Target League,” Byrge said. “I eventually took a trip to Iowa to tour the college, and I fell in love with the college and the people.” At the collegiate level, shooting sports competitors shoot three disciplines: skeet, trap and sporting clays. As an IHCC Warrior, Byrge plans to enroll in the criminal justice program.
